NEWARK, NEW YORK – Start Spreading the News!

Our inaugural flight EI101 to Newark, New Jersey, an Airbus A330-202, named St Caoimhe, registration EI-DAA, took off from Dublin Airport at 12.55pm today. We now offer a year-round, daily service from Dublin direct to Newark, New Jersey to service the New York market.

More than 50% of guests on board started their journey today outside of Dublin, from destinations such as Paris, Brussels, Hamburg, Manchester, London and Edinburgh, to name but a few.

Only 40 mins from downtown Manhattan, flying from Dublin into Newark is another great option for those keen to visit the Big Apple and with existing daily services from Dublin and Shannon to JFK, Aer Lingus now flies up to four times daily from Ireland to New York.

Newark, just 8 miles from Manhattan, itself boasts one of the country’s largest and most glamorous performing arts venues, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, not to mention the largest premium outlet mall in the state. Sports fans can cheer on the NHL New Jersey Devils ice hockey team as they battle for glory at the Prudential Center which has also hosted music concerts by legendary artists like Jay Z, Taylor Swift, and Pink.

Newark is the second of three new transatlantic routes to commence this summer, marking the single largest expansion of our transatlantic network since we commenced transatlantic flying in 1958. A direct new service to Los Angeles, California began in May and in late September a new four times weekly service will commence from Dublin to Hartford, Connecticut.

Services available to customers on transatlantic flights include Pre-clearance at U.S. immigration and customs at Dublin and Shannon airports, connections to onward destinations in the U.S. with airline partners, in-flight Wi-Fi, an extensive in-flight entertainment selection, gourmet meals including premium economy options and award winning cabin service.

Fares from Dublin to Newark start from €209 for travel between November 2016 and March 2017.
