America’s movie industry is synonymous with the city of Los Angeles, and the area is full of film-related attractions: from stars on the Walk of Fame, to studio tours and iconic sights. There’s something for every film buff here.

Warner Bros. Studio

Take a tour through the iconic film studios
From classic films to TV hits, Los Angeles is home to studios that produce a lot of what you see on screen. Book a tour to get a behind-the-scenes peek at sets and props. You can do tours of Warner Bros, Paramount Pictures Studio (the longest operating studio in Hollywood) and Sony Pictures Studio.

Universal Studios Hollywood

Thrill seek at the theme parks
Feel like you’ve been transported to into your favourite movie by visiting one of LA’s many theme parks. Arrive in Hogwarts and sip on a Butterbeer in Universal Studios Hollywood. If Disney films are your thing then a visit to the original Disneyland is a must. It has eight themed areas from Tomorrowland to Adventureland and there are some brilliant rides for all ages. There’s also Disney California Adventure Park which covers newer Disney films like The Incredibles and Cars.

Hollywood Walk of Fame

Walk in the footsteps of the stars in Hollywood
One of Hollywood’s most iconic and memorable sites, the Chinese Theatre represents Hollywood’s Golden Age. You can do a tour of the theatre (you’ll need to book in advance) or you can just take a look at the celebrity handprints at the entrance to the theatre – a tradition since it opened in 1927, more than 160 famous names have contributed. While you’re here take a stroll along the Hollywood Walk of Fame where there are hundreds of stars names. The most notable names are located between the 6800 and 6900 block of Hollywood Boulevard.

Enjoy a taste of fame with a tour celebrity homes and their favourite hotspots
See where the rich and famous hang out and live on a guided tour of the city. With thousands of stars living in or around L.A., there are quite a few notable homes to see. Along the way, you might also spot a few houses that make appearances in films and TV shows like the Iron Man mansion. Keep your eyes peeled and you might be lucky enough to spot a star.

Griffith Observatory

Head to Griffith Park before the day heats up for a hike up one of the park’s designated trails. For a fairly gentle walk with spectacular views follow the trail up to the Griffith Observatory, which takes in the Hollywood sign and panoramic views across the city on the way. Make sure you explore the beautiful Art Deco observatory at the top, which you’ll recognise from scenes in Rebel Without a Cause and La La Land. The views from the Observatory are equally cool at night where you can spot some real stars in the night sky.
