The 7 most Instagrammable spots in Paris

Paris is the city of love, and your Instagram followers will be loving your feed full of pictures from your Parisian adventure. Here are my 7 favourite photo spots in the city.

Eiffel Tower

1. Eiffel Tower
First up is pretty obvious: You can’t go to Paris without visiting the Eiffel Tower. The best location to take high shots of the Eiffel Tower and the city is from the Montparnasse Tower. If you want to stay on the ground, you should go to Trocadéro. Here you’ll find a large open square with beautifully patterned pavements which you can use to frame to your picture. From the square, move down the stairs towards the tower to the water fountain. Use this in your pictures too.

Insider tip: It can get pretty busy, so make sure you head there early to get the best spot for photography.

Arc de Triomphe

2. Arc de Triomphe
A classic spot for pictures is from the top of the Arc de Triomphe, which gives you panoramic views of the city and all its landmarks. As well as taking pictures from the top, you should also get some from ground level at Place Charles de Gaulle. It’s probably the busiest intersection in the city, so be prepared for crazy traffic.

Insider tip: The lighting is at its best at sunset so plan your visit for then if you can.

Rue Cremieux

3. Rue Crémieux
This charming cobbled backstreet may just be the most Instagram-perfect street in Paris. Each building on the street is painted in a different colour. With the colourful façades, shuttered windows, window boxes and terracotta pots filled with lush plants you’ll be in Instagram heaven.

Lourve

4. Louvre Museum
The Louvre is one of the most famous galleries in the world and is home to da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. The exterior pyramids make for the most photogenic perspectives that look incredible both day and night. The interior is just as spectacular. The hallowed halls are some of the most impressive I’ve seen – they’re an Instagram just waiting to happen.

Insider tip: It can get pretty busy at the museum so I’d recommend coming in the morning or at night to take long exposure photographs.

Notre Dame

5. Notre Dame
Notre Dame is a medieval Catholic cathedral that was built in 1163 and is widely considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture. If you’re feeling up to it, you should climb the 422 steps to the towers and upper walkway for views of the city skyline. You’ll need to buy a ticket for this.

Insider tip: For an interesting perspective, try framing your picture with the gargoyles in your photographs.

moulin rouge

6. Moulin Rouge
The world-famous cabaret, performed in a 19th-century windmill has been exciting audiences since 1900. Colourful and quirky, the outside makes for one of the most iconic photos you can take when you’re in Paris.

Insider tip: Visit at night to see the famous windmill lit up in all its glory.

Versailles

7. Palace of Versailles
Although technically outside of Paris, a visit to Versailles is a must for any first-timer! The gardens of Versailles are some of the most Intsagrammable you’ll find, with perfectly positioned symmetry and equally perfect hedge trimmings. The Palace has been listed as a World Heritage Site for 30 years and is one of the greatest achievements in French 17th century art so you can soak up the history while snapping pictures for the gram – it’s a win-win!

We fly to Paris up to twice daily from Dublin and operate daily flights from Cork.
