Official Airline of Ireland’s Special Olympic Team

ALSAA sports club in Dublin was abuzz with activity on Saturday morning as Special Olympics Ireland officially announced the names of the athletes who will represent Ireland at the 2015 World Games. Taking place during July and August this year, the athletes will compete alongside 7,000 other athletes in the host city of Los Angeles, USA.

Continuing our long and proud association with the Special Olympics, it was also announced that Aer Lingus will be the 'Official Airline of Ireland’s Special Olympic Team', transporting the team of 88 athletes, coaches and volunteers to compete at the World Summer Games.

Having first become a sponsor of Special Olympics Ireland over 10 years ago for the 2003 Special Olympics we have been involved in supporting Team Ireland travelling around the world to European and World games and are delighted to once again support the team.
Pictured at the announcement with the Circle of Inclusion are Cabin Crew Members Alejandro Luque Ruiz, Stephanie Butler, Lorna Kavanagh and Director of Communications, Declan Kearney. The Circle of Inclusion represents the acceptance and inclusion of all people with intellectual disabilities and the diversity of people and competitors who will be attending the World Games.

Liam Neeson lends his voice to the inspiring 'All Champions are Special' video released by the Irish Sports Council and Special Olympics Ireland.
